Job Description

The Accounts Manager's role comprises the following:

  • Supports financial decision-making information by collecting, analyzing, investigating, and reporting financial data
  • Prepares financial statements by collecting data; analyzing and investigating variances; summarizing data, information, and trends
  • Complies with tax filing requirements by studying regulations; adhering to requirements; advising management on required actions
  • Responds to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data
  • Provides financial advice by studying operational issues; applying financial principles and practices; developing recommendations
  • Prepares special reports by studying variances; preparing budgets; developing forecasts
  • Accomplishes finance and organization mission by completing related results as needed
  • Ensures timely and accurate payment of suppliers (local and international)
  • Manage audit process
  • Maintain accurate cash flows monthly and yearly
  • Manage relationships with financial institutions (local international)
  • Accurate maintenance of bank and GL recons

The Successful Applicant

The successful Accounts Manager:

  • Must come from manufacturing background in FMCG specifically
  • Have 10-12 years' progressive accounts experience
  • Studied BCom Honours Accounting or Business Administration
  • Managed a team for at least 5 years
  • Has experience using a major ERP system
  • Has thorough experience with compiling financial statements, management reports and managing large AP books
  • Is a self starter that takes responsibility for every task through to timely completion
  • Has solid experience managing large cash flows
  • Is comfortable with working in an owner managed company
