About Our Client

Our client is a conglomerate of the FMCG industry in Africa. As part of its Sub-Saharan growth strategy, we are looking for his-her Cash & Carry Manager in Angola.

Job Description

Based in Luanda, you report to the CEO and are responsible for the pre-opening, opening and post opening stages of Cash & Carry operations.

In line with this role, you will be expected to fulfill the following assignments :

  • Assess site upstream project including study of site specific constraints, design criteria, local certificates coordination, budget estimates, stock purchase,
  • Define item requirements based on concept standards, visual merchandising requirements and any special requests,
  • Plan, recruit and train the initial Cash & Carry store opening team,
  • Be responsible for store P&L and develop a store plan to build the business,
  • Develop strong business relationships with customers and suppliers,
  • Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly reporting and analysis,
  • Coordinate the work of shop floor staff,
  • Move goods within the store and ensuring that shelves are regularly restocked,
  • Take responsibility for the quality of stock, service, sales and losses,
  • Meet performance targets relevant to sales, wastage and returned stock,
  • Devise and run sales promotions,
  • Develop, manage and track distribution network as well as provide proper training and technical support to the distributors and importers sales force,
  • Act as the Company expert in commercial and competitive intelligence in the Area.

The Successful Applicant

You have a degree education and a minimum of ten years experience in retail & wholesale management having been exposed to Angola market with a career in advanced and international Cash&Carry structures.
Hands-on individual, you have already managed a large team and participated to a store opening including upstream and downstream phases. You have strong leadership and interpersonal skills together with a financial mindset.
Finally, you are fluent in English and Portuguese
