Job Description

  • Commercial Business Management (CBM)
    • Support the monthly Product & Offer Review (P&OR) and Demand Review (DR) processes by providing timely monthly updates of the 24 month rolling forecast for some Fuels Margin elements; Non Fuels Income (SA & Moz) & Balance Sheet components directly related to aforementioned, underpinned by business owned assumptions.
    • Ensure smooth running of Below The Line Processes (Regional and National Reviews) with advance preparation of material required for pre-read.
    • Facilitate the generation and tracking of Vulnerabilities and Opportunities through the Regional Reviews with clear actions to close out &/or mitigate vulnerabilities, communicate / escalate key business issues to other reviews and governance structures.
    • Support the achievement of CBM capable milestones and drive continuous improvement in the embedded P&OR and DR Below-The-Line (BTL) processes.
  • Performance, Planning & Reporting (PPR)
    • Support the GFO (Group Financial Outlook) process with some Fuels Margin elements; Non Fuels Income (SA & Moz) & Balance Sheet components into the CBM financial framework ensuring timely and accurate CBM template submissions to IR, based on business owned inputs & assumptions, ensuring that accountability and ownership of the numbers rests with and is signed off by the business.
    • Support the monthly, quarterly & annual Retail Performance Management Process through continuous and rigorous interrogation and business challenge on forecasting processes and ensure robust monthly reporting and understanding of actual variances to plan and forecast and drivers of changes to the forward outlook of forecasts.
    • Provide robust calculation of the key Demand KPI's within the CBM framework and drive the business to identify improvement areas.
    • Provide decision support information and analytics as required by business, using actuals provided by GBS and support the business in identifying performance interventions in all areas of under the roles remit.
    • Ensure silent running of the annual Bottom Up financial planning process for Retail SA & Mozambique, ensuring delivery within deadlines, of a robust and well underpinned plan that supports the strategic targets.
    • Monitor and track performance of key strategic initiatives
    • Prepare the annual shop (stretch target) targets by site.
    • Provide Working Capital insights and analysis and prepare the 24 month rolling Working Capital forecast based on key drivers.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Maintain sound working relationships with the business stakeholders that the role supports, encouraging a "One Team" approach to facilitate improved business engagement while simultaneously maintaining independence and providing robust challenge and objectivity.
    • Ensure continuous reporting process re-optimisation by working closely with GBS and IR.

The candidate would be responsible for the development and maintenance of robust models and processes to facilitate efficient ways of working in the preparation and tracking of detailed forecasts for some elements of Fuels Gross Margin; Non Fuels Income, Costs and Working Capital. Ability to maintain solid relations with key business stakeholders and ability to facilitate improved business engagement and interfaces as well as timely inputs from all functions.
