About Our Client

Our client is one of the leading and most successful companies in the Oil and Gas sector and is seeking someone who is eligible to work in the Johannesburg office as a Financial Manager of their operations in specific , monitor and evaluate the financial viability of projects in regards to costs, budgets, strategic plans and analysis.

Job Description

The following is a list of responsibilities of the successful candidate :

  • Partner with the business teams by providing financial/business insights, evaluation, analysis and directions on the downstream phase of commodities
  • Business partner with Marketing, Commercial, Manufacturing and Supply Chain in providing sound business advise on a wide range of business areas including: promotional activities, Pricing Strategies, product launches, capital investments, working capital improvement, etc.
  • Proactively challenge and improve business plans to add value and highlight risks and support development of mitigation plans
  • Interpret and communicate financial information effectively with business partners and proactively contribute to build capabilities in the business teams
  • Manage the preparation, analysis and evaluation of monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc financial information with the objective of providing timeous, meaningful information to guide management towards successfully achieving KCSA's financial targets.
  • Ensure timeous and accurate management information, information and systems improvements and sound business controls including but not limited to:

- Ensure sound business controls

- Provide Management with timeous and accurate financial information

- Meet all accounting and reporting deadline

- Provide council, training and guidance to the KSA Leadership team on a broad range of company financial matters.

  • Provide day- to- day advice/guidance to employees and line managers on Company financial policies (CFi's), practices and procedures to support the corporation's program for strong central financial control by reporting whenever corporate policies or instructions are not being followed.

Plan prepare and execute the annual operating budgets & quarterly updates to ensure that they are relevant and accurate.

The Successful Applicant

In order to be assessed for the position, the following must be held by the required incumbent :

1) CA(SA) / CIMA
2) Experience in the mining sector for a minimum of 6 years
3) Experience in a management sector at a minimum of 5 years
4) A proven ability to have managed a compliment of 50 or more staff
5) A valid South African work permit/VISA that will not expire in the next 3 year
