Job Description

  • Support the FMC Manager by pro-actively driving the performance of the Opex program delivery through the Facility Management Company (FMC) to agreed outcomes, meeting HSSE and Retail business objectives;
  • Implement the maintenance program in the Market through FMC;
  • Work with the FMC Manager on the continuous improvement in the maintenance delivery in terms of costs, quality and cycle time in alignment with the Global FMC teams;
  • Develop and manage with the FMC Manager, the key stakeholder relationships with other Network functions, Sales & Ops, PMC Manager and other external third parties such as Facility Management Company (FMC) and pro-actively communicate with them in order to deliver the Opex program through the PMC in an integrated way.

Further the FMC Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Leading and drive HSSE mind-set within the FMC organization and through them to contractors;
  • Ensure compliance with the Organisation's HSSE policies by FMC and through them, by contractors;
  • Support the FMC Manager to drive and manage the strategic relationship with FMC at market level;
  • Establish strong working relationships with individual stakeholders;
  • Apply innovative approaches in optimal delivery of the FMC contract;
  • Provide leadership to FMC team in the market to set a clear direction and priorities on construction program;
  • Support the FMC Manager to provide a cohesive and integrated annual maintenance program to FMC including high-level scope and timelines;
  • Review with FMC and approve the complete Opex plan and phasing of projects/program that are prepared by the FMC including procurement strategies;
  • Provide the scope of work of each individual project and program under his/her direct responsibility;
  • Take personal accountability to ensure timely delivery of commitment;
  • Attend the monthly Performance Improvement meetings with FMC team to review the project/program delivery including spent, milestones and HSSE and agree action plans to improve project/program delivery performance;
  • Deliver smiling sites, scorecard improvement and the Asset Management Plan through the FMC, Sales and Ops, Marketing and Network Teams;
  • Escalate unresolved and systemic issues to company Engineering Manager;
  • Provide a Market interface to key stakeholders in other Network functions, Sales & Ops, Marketing and FMC team to ensure the cross-business priorities are integrated into FMC priorities;
  • Identify and implement solutions to achieve continuous improvement.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be a South African citizen with a strong analytical background, budgetary & excel related experience;

He/She will have excellent communication skills and experience within Health & Safety Management;

Ideally the successful candidate will come from the Petroleum industry with construction & Project Management experience;

Experience in Facilities Management & maintenance is critical to the role;

Professional Retail experience or Technical Engineering background would be beneficial for the position;

Strong personal values & principles aligned with group business practices;

Team player with strong leadership, proactive, self-starting & taking initiatives with strong sense of responsibility, ownership & urgency.
