About Our Client
Our client is a global development company who have started operations in Africa in the last 5 years. They are Dubai based. Apart from the 2 main operations (with headcount of about 600 people), their head office in Africa has about 10 people.
Reporting into the CEO Africa based in Nairobi, with a dotted line into the Global Head of Finance based in Dubai, you will be responsible for building / restructuring a finance team to help lead and deliver the key mandates during their aggressive 10 year growth strategy.
Key responsibilities of the Head of Finance includes: feasibility, demographics, negotiations, leasing, annual budgeting, monitoring costs, revenues, collections, managing working capital, managing the day to accounting activities, timely closure of audit, generating monthly MIS reports, as well as the management of the finances of the current operations in Africa.
Very important the person can produce relevant and important reports for senior management (CEO Africa, the Africa Board and Dubai based executives) to use. High quality and reliable information has been lacking in the current structure.
The Successful Applicant
M&A experience, or exposure to working with Private Equity firms is critical, as are excellent verbal and written communication skills. Obviously exposure to working in Kenya or East Africa is a must. Ideally, you will have spent some time in a Big 4 or professional services firm, but have also worked in industry, and have held a senior finance position. They are open to candidates currently living outside of Africa.
