Our client is a market leader globally within the Manufacturing and Production sector with offices based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Job Description

As the Local Division Manager, based in Johannesburg, South Africa your main responsibilities will include:

  • Implementation of the Global Division strategy, and ensure business development, including profit and loss (P&L), in local markets. Clear input to Global Division strategy.

  • Ensure development of performance targets in line with global targets and ensure achievement through oversight and definition of improvement actions as needed.

  • Evaluate market opportunities in line with Division strategy and coordinates activities, with other local divisions and across the Region where appropriate.

  • Ensures profitable business growth within the Local Division.

  • Optimise business on a regional scale, taking advantage of the Group's local and global resources.

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with new and existing customers to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.

  • Take a leadership role in ensuring standards are met with regards to culture, health and safety, environment, security and integrity across the area of responsibility.

  • Ensure (with HR Manager Support) that the area of responsibility is properly organised, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies.

The Successful Applicant

As the successful Local Division Manager, reporting to the CEO, you will have the following attributes:

  • Electrical / Mechanical Degree - NON - NEGOTIABLE
  • Minimum 8 years of management and leadership experience (strategy, management of complexity) in a similar role in a global company
  • Strong commercial and sales skills
  • Proven ability to develop and lead people to achieve target as a team
  • Sound knowledge of market
  • General knowledge of customer products, applications and processes
  • Broad understanding of Manufacturing and product business
  • Strong intercultural competency
  • Fluent English
