Job Description

Key outputs for the position:

National strategy formulation and translation of strategy into tactical plans within the Business Units:

  • Participate with and engage relevant internal stakeholders/ forums to align strategies and tactics with the Acquisition, Cross sell and Retention component of Corporate Saver within Business Banking
  • Internally formulate strategy and translate that strategy into execution plans to enhance the overall Corporate Saver value proposition
  • Communicate the strategy and tactics to internal stakeholders and the Sales force in conjunction with the Business Unit Heads
  • Manage the overall risk associated with Corporate Saver as a business
  • Provide input into pricing strategies and models to ensure optimization of the proposition
  • Measure and communicate the strength and footprint of the business to relevant stakeholders
  • Coordinate implementation of the strategy in conjunction with the Business Unit Heads to ensure correct and effective positioning of the proposition in the market in order to create:
  • Increased awareness & visibility
  • Increased value
  • Increased presence/footprint
  • Growth
  • Growth in relation to competitor products

Development and implementation of national sales and market penetration plans and processes

  • Develop integrated Sales and Business Development strategies and plans for the Corporate Saver proposition and the associated products.
  • Conduct market, customer and competitor analysis to gain solid understanding of trends
  • Develop national sales strategies to capitalise on market, agent, customer and competitor trends
  • Identify applicable growth markets, segments and sectors. Develop market/ segment/ and sector penetration plans
  • Communicate sales/penetration plans to Business Units and Sales staff and ensure they are optimally enabled to roll-out and implement these
  • Monitor and measure effectiveness of Business development, Sales and penetration strategies and timeously amend when or if necessary
  • Continuously investigate innovative and creative tactical sales approaches in order to enhance the effectiveness of sales/deals

Management and coordination of national marketing and communication strategies

  • Develop and implement Corporate Saver Marketing, Public Relations and Communications plan within the Business Units which aligns with and dovetails into the National strategy
  • Develop and manage marketing strategies in accordance with product differentiation strategies at a National level
  • Input into the development of marketing collateral such as Advertisements, Brochures, Leaflets, Fact sheets and Road show packages action, monitor and approve the design, content and appearance of these
  • Ensure all marketing material adheres to statutory, Group and Business Banking standards & requirements
  • Ensure all products are packaged and contain the correct "look and feel" in accordance with the objectives of the Brand and Marketing strategies
  • Coordinate promotions and publicity events nationally in accordance with the national Marketing strategy
  • Build and maintain effective PR and media relations
  • Identify applicable target audiences for different marketing initiatives
  • Act as a joint custodian over data and content of Websites and electronic channels marketing efforts such as on-line communications. Ensure adherence to all requirements and links between or to other financial portals
  • Ensure that the product marketing strategy is effectively operationalised in the Business Units

Continued optimization of the holistic product proposition (product, pricing, processes, service delivery) in conjunction with key stakeholders

  • As joint custodian of the integrated Corporate Saver propositions with key internal stakeholders ensure that agents and their clients are at all times provided with the intended business proposition that meets their business requirements
  • Ensure that all aspects of the holistic proposition are considered and optimized eg the products, channels, systems processes, pricing and service delivery in conjunction with key internal stakeholders
  • Ensure that in all the Business Units the value proposition brought to agents and their clients is of such a nature that the business relationship will be maintained and optimised
  • Constantly see to it that products are operationally correctly packaged and presented
  • Develop and implement strategies that will ensure growth and protection of the overall proposition

New business generation and optimized revenue from new and existing agents and their clients

  • Assist Business Units to secure deals of a strategic nature
  • Investigate innovative and creative approaches to be applied in order to bring new deals on the book
  • Assist BU Heads and Regional Managers to find ways of developing and closing their pipelines
  • Ensure that Business Units meet and exceed their new business sales targets
