About Our Client

Our Client is a global giant within the FMCG, Pharmaceutical environment with numerous synonymous brands falling under the Groups umbrella. This multinational has an established history and footprint on the African continent with a headcount of well over 5000 people globally. As our Client looks to further solidify their global status and expand on recent achievements, a need has arisen for an exceptional, process driven Operations Manager to manage their state of the art facility.

Job Description

The Operations Manager will be involved in the:

  • Execution of the agreed OPP and adherence to scheduled start and delivery dates.
  • Monthly cost centre performance, planning of capacity against OPP, budget and forecast.
  • Developing, executing and controlling the operating and capital expense budgets.
  • Monthly review of future Demand Forecasting, Product Transfers and Product Launches to ensure Operational constraints are identified and addressed.
  • Product routings and technical transfer protocol reviews to support Insourcing and Outsourcing decisions.
  • Ensuring execution of projects as per agreed time-lines.
  • Developing and sustaining a continuous improvement culture that results in the attainment of effective operations. (i.e. trending of deviations, close out of CAPA's, Risk Assessment and mitigation of risks, etc.)He or She will further be responsible for:
  • Identifying and executing manpower / structural / equipment and workflow improvements.
  • Ensuring that the operating environment is established and maintained to meet the cGMP requirements of targeted international markets and ensure audit readiness for all Regulatory Authorities.
  • Ensuring compliance with QMRS, Preventative Maintenance and validation schedules.
  • Liaising with internal and external customers to ensure the supply of quality products and resolution of any product complaints.
  • Developing and sustaining a team based performance culture with adherence to the workplace skills plan, theoretical SOP training and workplace practical assessments.

Lastly, the incumbent will:

  • Set performance targets, measure and manage - Performance Management and Succession Planning
  • Ensure compliance to Labour Legislations Act and Company Policy and Procedures.
  • Ensure SHE standards and legislations are adhered to.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be a South African citizen with strong academic qualifications and come from a FMCG managerial position. He/She will be a strong leader and must be knowledgeable in Batch Manufacturing within highly regulated and controlled environments. The incumbent will have strong processes and understand system adherence and optimization. He/She will have strong business acumen and regulatory compliance experience within highly regulated and process driven environments. SAP experience will be highly beneficial as well as being fully computer literate. The incumbent will have the ability to engage with diverse demographics and will work under pressure while simultaneously managing a team.
