Job Description

The PMO Head/ Programme Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Work closely with analytics team, development team, data team and be the interface into the business development teams ensuring a smooth transition between the teams and a common understanding of new products and projects
  • Perform a client facing role in ensuring the successful management, implementation and support of new product projects, in line with industry standards and best practice
  • Driving project delivery proactively to effectively meet committed timelines through co-ordination of efforts across teams, ongoing and clear communication, effective management of risks and issues and removal of impediments
  • Management of product boards in TFS to ensure that it is accurate, up to date and reflects clear priorities across industries. Effective translation of these priorities into tasks for other teams to complete
  • Ongoing consideration given to product viability, commercial impact, capacity constraints and any other business model implications, with appropriate actions taken to mitigate any concerns

The Successful Applicant

As the PMO Head/ Programme Manager you would be required to have the following:

  • At least 5 years of experience in complex project management / programme management

  • Product development and innovation experience advantageous

  • Agile/Scrum software development experience advantageous
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross functional teams within a formalised methodology
  • Demonstrated experience in managing issues, scope and quality while bring projects to successful completion within the cost and time requirements
  • Exceptional communication and documentation skills
  • Advanced understanding of project planning and management techniques and experience in setting up a PMO
  • Strong ownership of internal and external customers' problems, ensuring appropriate action is taken to resolve them.
  • Strong commercial awareness relating to client plans and opportunities, as well as internal cost management
  • Strong reporting and resource management skills
  • Strong documentation skills using project planning and project management tools
  • Understanding of software development life cycle and agil
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to accurately estimate work required on tasks, prioritise work and deliver to deadlines
  • Attentive to detail and passionate about data and problem solving
  • Ability to co-ordinate work across multiple teams and extract the best from a team
  • Excited about learning, pushing technical limits and finding new solutions

What's on Offer

My client is offering a cost to company ranging between R600 000 and R660 000 per annum, negotiable dependant on experience and qualifications
