Job Description

The Project Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Developing project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans;
  • Reporting progress into management;
  • Determining project responsibilities while assigning personnel to phases, elements and reviewing bids from contractors;
  • Determines project specifications and performance standards; completing technical studies;
  • Preparing cost estimates;
  • Confirms project performance by designing and conducting verification tests;
  • Determines projects schedule; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements;
  • Monitor engineering progress;
  • Participate in project risk assessments, and actively manage the risks of the projects and the business;
  • Prepare project estimates, budget, schedules and execution plans;
  • Preparing the engineering CAPEX budget;
  • Extensive Project Management;
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Further responsibilities include:

  • Attend any training program as scheduled by company management as part of IDP program and train any designed person in the position;
  • Maintaining safety and integrity when installing electrical and mechanical systems as well as construction phases;
  • Develop and maintain safety standards according to the health and safety Act
  • Ensure that no LTI-MWI is caused due to exposure to moving machine parts and exposed electrical equipment and in project and construction phases;
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.

Strong tertiary education with practical knowledge.
