Job Description

The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for:

  • With three director reports, the incumbent will review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.
  • Negotiate standard costs across items or activities where appropriate.
  • Monitor supplier performance to assess level of service delivery in relation to agreed service levels as per the service level agreement.
  • Manage all contractual changes and compliance requirements relating to supply chain management.
  • Monitor costs and quotations to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain spend.
  • Actively monitor and manage spend relating to BBBEE requirements.
  • Meet with suppliers to discuss performance and any management issues.
  • Continuously evaluate and implement new or improved supply chain processes.
  • Constantly reviewing the market place for new innovative technologies, products and services that can add value to the business.
  • Constantly surveying the market place in order to identify new quality service suppliers.
  • Develop and implement procedures or systems to evaluate and select service suppliers.
  • Analyse information about spend patterns any potential risks in advance and what mitigating actions can be implemented to reduce the risk.
  • Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors, such as cost or quality.
  • Analyse service delivery to determine how to increase value, reduce waste, or optimise customer service.
  • Manage activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing
  • Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other departments within the business.
  • Record, monitor and review all sustainability and environmental metrics performances in order to report on it.
  • Provide monthly management reports to senior management regarding supply chain management and make recommendations where required.
  • To provide functional support to the operational team.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be a South African citizen with strong experience within the Property sector. The incumbent will have strong knowledge of property principles, contract negotiations and the legal principles as it relates to service delivery contracts. The incumbent will understand end-to-end supply chain and be a strong team player.
