Role based in Dubai with travels to Africa
About Our Client
Our client is an international diversified group.
We are looking for a Chief Operating Officer with overall responsibility for the management, definition and monitoring of the technical and operating long term strategy of the tobacco activities of the group in Africa.
Handling several factories and processing plants, in 10 different countries, in this strategic position you will contribute to the harmonisation of processes and standards. As a decision maker, and with the support of a multidisciplinary team, you will:
- Lead and Oversee the operations of the organisation to meet business goals and projections
- Empower the operational team with the leadership and resources needed to successfully complete operations initiatives
-Represent the company externally with government, statutory/regulatory bodies and business partners,- create and maintain cross functional lines of reporting into corporate headquarter
- Measure and report on operational performance and develop plans to improve relevant key performance indicators
- Take lead accountability for the safe operation of the activities; protect employee and employer interests with satisfactory HSEC performance.
The Successful Applicant
Qualified Engineer with an excellent understanding of the tobacco industry, you have a minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior position. Ideally a good part of your career will have seen you intimately involved in Regional or Operations Management. Taking into account the local contexts, a personal or professional experience in an emerging market country will be useful for rapid integration.
Fluency in English is a must, a very good level French would be ideal.
This role is based in Dubai or one of the African country where they operate.
