Job Description

Key Account Manager is responsible to grow and to retain a portfolio of clients. Duties and Responsibility:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Management: Manage and nurture existing key accounts, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded. Build long-term relationships with clients and serve as their primary point of contact.
  • Operational Excellence: Collaborate with our operations team to ensure seamless and efficient logistics services for key accounts. Monitor and optimise supply chain processes to meet client expectations.
  • Solution-Driven Approach: Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimisation within key accounts. Propose innovative logistics solutions to address client challenges.
  • Business Development: Expand the portfolio of key accounts by identifying and targeting potential clients. Develop and implement strategies to acquire new business.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage directly with clients, stakeholders, and partners to understand their requirements and expectations. Maintain a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations and renewals with key accounts. Ensure that all contractual obligations are met and exceeded.
  • Sales Expertise: Utilise your sales acumen to identify up-sell and cross-sell opportunities within key accounts. Achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Networking: Leverage your existing network and develop new connections within the logistics and supply chain industry to promote our services and grow our business.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate for the Key Account Manager will be based in Johannesburg or Cape Town.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in key account management and sales, particularly within the logistics or transportation industry.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management and logistics operations.
  • Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solution-driven mindset with the ability to identify and address client needs.
  • A well-established network within the local business community.
  • Charismatic and persuasive, with the ability to charm clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
