It involves leading a team of maintenance technicians, liaising with external contractors, and overseeing budgets to facilitate departmental activities by aligning with established objectives and policies.

Job Description

Maintenance Planning and Operations:

  • Oversee and update the preventive and corrective maintenance plan
  • Ensure equipment is in optimal condition to reduce downtime.
  • Schedule routine maintenance plan for building infrastructure as per hotel standards and conduct regular inspections, addressing malfunctions promptly.
  • Collaborate with Hotel Management and the Technical Services Department to set short- and long-term objectives.
  • Work with the General Manager and Head of Technical Services on major repairs, upgrades, and capital projects.
  • Coordinate with the CTS department during renovations and major projects, and manage subcontractors for efficient operations.
  • Ensure smooth communication between management, CTS, and the maintenance team through regular briefings and meetings.



Team Leadership and people management:

  • Collaborate with People & Culture on manpower planning, recruitment, performance reviews, promotions, development, and disciplinary matters, ensuring adherence to HR policies and values.
  • Report and investigate incidents, accidents, and disciplinary issues as per policies.
  • Lead, train, and supervise the Maintenance team, promoting productivity, safety, and accountability.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and evaluate performance
  • Set KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and ensure the team has the necessary skills and tools.
  • Plan training and development activities and provide coaching to maintenance staff, fostering a culture of excellence.



Utilities Management:

  • Monitor and analyze energy and water consumption.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Services Department to review sustainability action plans and set measurable targets (e.g., energy, water, waste).
  • Optimize technological tools for managing utilities.



Budget Management:

  • Forecast operational expenses in collaboration with Hotel and Technical Services Departments.
  • Produce monthly expense reports and analyze operating costs.
  • Coordinate capital expenditure projects and identify cost-saving opportunities.



Compliance and Standards:

  • Ensure adherence to regulations, codes, and safety standards.
  • Maintain records of inspections, certifications, and licenses.
  • Implement safety protocols to minimize risks to guests and staff.
  • Support internal and external audits and collaborate on action plans.
  • Promote eco-friendly practices, reducing environmental impact.



Emergency Response:

  • Assist in implementing procedures for maintenance-related emergencies (e.g., power outages, leaks).
  • Coordinate with departments and external services for quick resolution.
  • Respond to emergencies during odd hours, weekends, holidays, and natural calamities.



The Successful Applicant

  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills with a pro-active approach.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance in hospitality or similar industries.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and to handle emergency response situations.
  • Proactive approach to maintenance issues.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and safety standards.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with energy monitoring, sustainability, and smart maintenance solutions.
  • Ability to drive innovation in maintenance operations through digital tools.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance management experience, preferably in hospitality.
