Tell us about your PageGroup career so far:

I started as a Recruitment Consultant in our Finance recruitment team in 2011. I was completely new to recruitment as I previously worked in Financial Planning so I went through a steep learning curve. I was promoted to Managing Consultant in Finance in 2014. 2014 was a phenomenal year for me as I qualified for annual high flyers for the first time and went on an all expenses paid trip to Mykonos. I was promoted to Manager in Finance in 2016 and am currently a Senior Business Manager - Banking & Finance, and today I additionally recruit for the Sales and Marketing discipline.

Why did you join PageGroup?

For me,  there were many reasons why I decided to leave the known for the unknown. I had always wanted to work in recruitment but lacked the experience. The opportunity at Page was an opportunity to join one of the largest global recruitment companies in the world. I wanted to work for Page because of its brand and the fact that Page is present in so many different countries which meant I would potentially have the opportunity to work somewhere else in the world down the track. Another big selling point was being able to grow my career knowing that all growth within  Page happens organically and you are in control of your own success.  Joining Page meant being exposed to working with different people and being able to meet people from across the world. It meant that I would be able to reap the rewards of my efforts – that by providing exeptional service to clients and candidates, I would be able to earn quarterly bonuses and experience a different culture that I believed would build my character.

What are your career aspirations with PageGroup?

My career aspiration was always to become part of the Management team at Page. Now that I am a Senior Business Manager, I want to focus on continuing to build up the Finance and Accounting and Sales and Marketing desks where there is consistent revenue coming in from more then one individual. My 4 - 5 year goal is to become an Associate Director and manage more than one team. International opportunities is definitely something I aspire for and I would love to move within the Group to another country like the USA or the UAE (Dubai).

What is most rewarding about your job?

A big part of recruitment is about building relationships with both clients and candidates well as your colleagues and it is these relationships that help you to succeed because the longer you are in recruitment, the more candidates you can convert to clients and vice versa. Another rewarding part of my job is being able to assist with clients needs by matching their requirements and placing a successful candidate in what is possibly their dream job. Recruitment is never static as it’s a changing market and it is very rare that 2 days are the same. Being able to change peoples lives, having independence in how you manage your desk, having a good bonus structure and working within a great culture in a highly competitive environment keeps you constantly challenged.
