1. When did you join Michael Page in South Africa and tell us about your role there and your career journey?
I joined Michael Page South Africa in January 2018, within the Sub-Saharan Africa division. I was given the opportunity by the management team to develop a brand-new division with strong growth perspectives. I started out as a Consultant and within two years, I was promoted thrice and was managing a team of three.
2. Why did you want an international transfer and why did you choose to join our Middle East team?
After three years recruiting within the Africa region and having had an amazing learning experience, I felt it was time for me to discover a new office and region. One of the main reasons I joined PageGroup was to experience career growth and explore international opportunities. An opportunity to join the Middle East within the growing Saudi Arabia recruitment division, presented itself and I decided that this was the right challenge to leverage on my African experience.
3. How was the relocation process?
The relocation process was smooth and well handled in a complex year logistically given the outbreak of the global pandemic.
4. Tell us about your role and how you’re enjoying the new challenge of relocating and developing your career in a completely new region.
I had never been to the Middle East before, so it was a new experience for me. I must say I received a really warm welcome from everyone in the Dubai office – this largely eased my integration to the office and my new market, Saudi Arabia. It has been a great learning experience for me once again, especially being part of recruiting for ambitious projects in Saudi Arabia. I am sure the journey ahead will be amazing as well.
