Description du poste

The Agronomist, Deputy Operations Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Negotiate prices of citrus fruits
  • Identify Packhouses to store fruit
  • Source citrus, oranges
  • Contract and identify local farmers
  • Ensure the shipping of packed fruits to overseas markets
  • Manage procurement strategies for agricultural products to meet operational needs effectively.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Work closely with supply chain teams to optimise logistics and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and sustainability standards.
  • Analyse market trends to guide procurement decisions and maintain cost efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the implementation of best practices in agricultural product sourcing.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and operational improvements within the Agriculture sector.

Profil recherché

A successful Agronomist, Deputy Operations Manager should have:

  • A relevant qualification in agriculture, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Experience in procurement and supply chain operations within the Agriculture industry.
  • Strong understanding of agricultural products and sustainability practices.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage supplier relationships.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and decision-making tools.
  • Must be based in Limpopo
