As part of its continued development, the company is looking to strengthen its reinsurance function by appointing a highly skilled and commercially minded Manager - Reinsurance.

Description du poste

Reporting to senior management, the Manager - Reinsurance will be responsible for developing and implementing the Company's reinsurance strategy in line with business objectives and risk appetite. Key responsibilities include:

  • Negotiating, placing, and administering treaty and facultative reinsurance arrangements.
  • Managing relationships with reinsurers, brokers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Reviewing and analysing reinsurance programmes to ensure adequate coverage and cost effectiveness.
  • Monitoring reinsurance recoveries and ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances.
  • Overseeing the preparation and submission of reinsurance bordereaux, accounts, and reports.
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance on reinsurance matters to underwriting, claims, finance, and other business functions.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and internal policies.
  • Evaluating reinsurance performance, identifying trends, and recommending improvements to enhance profitability and risk management.
  • Preparing management reports, performance analyses, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.



Profil recherché

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A professional qualification in Insurance or Reinsurance (ACII, FCII, or equivalent), or a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in general insurance or reinsurance, including 3 to 5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Strong technical expertise in treaty and facultative reinsurance, underwriting principles, claims processes, and insurance regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • A proactive and strategic mindset, with the ability to drive improvements and support business growth through effective reinsurance management.
