About Our Client

A conglomerate in Mauritius is looking for its General Manager - Manufacturing for its Business Unit in Africa

Job Description

Provide overall leadership and direction for the manufacturing operation.

Drive operational excellence, productivity, quality, and cost-efficiency initiatives.

Develop and execute short- and long-term business strategies aligned with company objectives.

Manage the site's full P&L and ensure achievement of financial targets.

Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams across production, engineering, supply chain, maintenance, quality, and HSE.

Implement continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and health & safety standards.

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, government authorities, and key stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or related field. An MBA would be an advantage.

* Minimum 15 years of leadership experience within manufacturing or industrial operations.

* Proven experience managing large-scale manufacturing facilities.

* Strong commercial acumen with experience managing P&L responsibilities.

* Demonstrated success leading business transformation, operational improvements, and team development.

* Experience operating within African markets is highly desirable.

* Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

* Fluent English required. Additional languages would be advantageous.
