Reporting to the R&D and Formulation Manager, the Veterinary professional will support farmers and clients by providing expert animal health, disease prevention, biosecurity, and veterinary care services to enhance livestock productivity and welfare. The role also involves conducting farm audits, implementing vaccination programs, diagnosing health issues, and collaborating with key stakeholders to drive continuous improvement across the livestock sector.

Job Description

  • Propose and implement preventive measures to safeguard the sanitary status of all LFL farmers.
  • Prepare and execute annual farm visit and audit programs to assess flock health and biosecurity standards.
  • Develop comprehensive reports on biosecurity, health, hygiene, and farm audit outcomes, including recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor vaccination programs, assessing their effectiveness and compliance.
  • Diagnose flock health issues, prescribe treatments, and ensure successful follow-up and recovery.
  • Monitor developments and innovations in veterinary medicine and recommend continuous improvements.
  • Work closely with the Division of Veterinary Services and internal stakeholders to deliver effective health solutions.
  • Provide veterinary support and respond to emergency situations affecting customer farms, including outside normal working hours.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Veterinary should have:

  • Bachelor in Veterinary Science or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a similar role is an advantage.
  • Up to date with new scientific developments in veterinary medicine.
  • Passionate about animal health and welfare.
  • Strong communication and diagnostic skills.
  • Proactive with sound decision-making abilities.
  • Well organised, reliable, and team-oriented.
  • Flexible to work weekends, shifts, or after normal working hours when required.
