This role will look at the integration of multi-layered databases & systems (i.e. building of data warehouse and integration layers using appropriate tools). They will also be integrating information systems across multiple platforms, web and on-site applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and security, while integrating with third-party services and enterprise systems (including API development and management).

Job Description

  • Design, build, and maintain data warehouses, integration pipelines, and data models to support business intelligence and analytics needs;
  • Develop and manage APIs, integration layers, and middleware solutions for seamless connectivity across systems and platforms;
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of data across multiple sources and applications;
  • Monitor system performance and optimise data flows to ensure high availability and reliability;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify integration requirements and deliver scalable, secure solutions;
  • Implement data governance, access controls, and security measures to safeguard sensitive information;
  • Troubleshoot integration issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions;
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of integration processes, system configurations, and architectural diagrams;
  • Contribute to the development and enforcement of data and integration policies, standards, and best practices.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Data and Integration Specialist should have:

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Engineering or related field including a minimum of 4 years in data engineering, systems integration, or similar roles with strong exposure to infrastructure, networks, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.;
  • Strong knowledge of system administration, integration frameworks, security protocols, and enterprise applications;
  • Solid understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL), data modelling, and data architecture principles;
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments; and
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
