  • Established performance metrics and governance frameworks to drive accountability and operational excellence.
  • Developed and executed strategic initiatives to improve asset utilisation, supply chain performance, and business outcomes.
  • Ensured alignment between operational objectives and broader commercial and organisational goals.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Operations Manager should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 year's experience in shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, port operations.
  • Proven track record in operational management, including planning, execution, performance monitoring, and process optimisation.
  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to manage, coach, and develop multidisciplinary teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of shipping operations, vessel scheduling, customs regulations, import/export procedures, and logistics best practices.
  • Experience managing budgets, KPIs, vendor relationships, and customer service performance.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities with customers, suppliers, port authorities, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in using relevant logistics software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
