Job Description

The Senior legal advisor will be managing a wide range of complex legal matters for the group across local and international jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial legal background, a sharp business acumen, and a pragmatic approach to managing legal risk in a fast-paced multinational environment. The role will entail the following:

  • Provide legal advice and support across the organisation's functions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations within the retail industry.
  • Manage legal risks and provide solutions to mitigate them.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary.
  • Assist with dispute resolution and litigation management.
  • Keep up-to-date with legal developments affecting the retail sector.
  • Support the organisation in achieving its strategic goals through sound legal guidance

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Legal Advisor should have:

  • A law degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven expertise in handling legal matters in a corporate environment.
  • Strong experience in contract drafting from scratch, review, and negotiation.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements within the Commercial law
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience in managing legal risk, litigation, and compliance with local and global legislation.
  • Minimum of 5 year's post-admission legal experience, ideally within a large law firm, corporate or multinational environment
