About Our Client

Our client, the Harel Mallac Group, is a leading diversified group in Mauritius with a strong footprint across the Indian Ocean region. Within its Equipment & Systems cluster, Novengi and Aerolik are recognised as regional leaders in engineering and air treatment solutions, covering Smart Building, HVAC, ventilation, refrigeration, and fire protection.

Operating across Mauritius, Réunion, Madagascar, Mayotte, and Seychelles, the business employs approximately 120 people and generates turnover of circa MUR 600 million.

Job Description

Key responsibilities include:

Strategy & Business Leadership

  • Define and execute the strategic roadmap across all entities
  • Enhance the business model and drive digitalisation initiatives
  • Strengthen partnerships with global principals and brands



Commercial Development

  • Own and deliver the commercial strategy across all markets
  • Build a robust sales pipeline and improve conversion performance
  • Develop new market opportunities (e.g., energy efficiency, smart buildings)
  • Lead pricing strategies and marketing plans to maximise market share



Customer Experience

  • Implement customer-centric processes across the full lifecycle
  • Improve delivery performance, service quality, and after-sales support
  • Drive customer satisfaction as a key competitive differentiator



Financial & Governance Oversight

  • Ensure strong financial controls, reporting, and KPI discipline
  • Optimise profitability, working capital, and cash flow
  • Strengthen governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks



Operational Excellence

  • Improve efficiency across supply chain, service, and workshops
  • Drive cost discipline and productivity improvements
  • Create synergies between Novengi and Aerolik operations



Regional Expansion

  • Lead structured and profitable expansion in Réunion and the region
  • Identify and prioritise growth opportunities across Indian Ocean markets
  • Expand product and service portfolio in a disciplined manner



Leadership & People Management

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team across multiple locations
  • Build a strong leadership bench and succession pipeline
  • Foster a unified culture and performance-driven environment
  • Act as a key ambassador for the business internally and externally

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a senior leadership or General Management role
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred
  • Proven track record in commercial leadership and business growth
  • Strong financial acumen and project management capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, multi-site teams
  • Customer-focused with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
